Deborah Shanks, DVM

Dr. Shanks's dream of being a veterinarian began while attending elementary school in Grapevine, Texas, and become a reality when she graduated with her D.V.M from St. Georges University in 2013. Her time spent abroad and her clinical year at the University of Florida was fantastic, but she was happy to return to the DFW metroplex to start her career.

For the past seven years, Dr. Shanks has practiced medicine in Arlington and Grand Prairie, sharpening her focus and expertise in internal medicine, ultrasonography, and senior pet care. During that time, she got married, started a family, and now has two beautiful daughters who are the light of her life. Her two dogs, Jellybean and Norbert, round out their full house; there is never a dull moment between the dogs and babies!

In February 2020, she got the opportunity to join the Boulevard Animal Hospital team and is beyond excited to be closer to her hometown, living out her childhood dream. Dr. Shanks feels that practicing veterinary medicine is her true calling. She has a love for animals, a passion for their well-being, and a dedication to being the best veterinarian she can be. The emphasis on quality care and client focus was one of the driving factors in her move to Boulevard. She would love to meet you and your furry family member!
